I have a spare RPi 2B that I'm thinking of turning into a hotspot. Yes, I know that pi is older technology, but I thought another hotspot would be a good use for it. Is there a viable option for a duplex MMDVM hat? I've been told there might be performance issues. If simplex is my only option, I'm okay with that, but I thought I'd explore a duplex solution first.
I've tried searching the forums, but haven't found anything so far. Thank you!
Duplex MMDVM hat for RPi 2B
Re: Duplex MMDVM hat for RPi 2B
The 2B will work with a duplex hat.
The one thing the new pis have over the older ones are speed in boot up and stuffs like serving the web dashboard, registering config changes etc.
As far as the rf 'stuff' goes, itll do fine.
Whilst a bigger, better, faster board is always the ideal... if ur not constantly pinging the dashboard etc. it'll run fine as a 2nd use hotspot.
