Pi Zero w 1.1, fw v1.6.1, dashboard 40210
4.3.0 Feb 10 image. It was running nice in DMR. This afternoon I did an update and rebooted. Modes Enabled DMR was red, Network Status DMR Net was red. I rebooted still red. I then went into pistar configuration and click apply changes in configuration block, changed nothing. The two DMR status setting went green and DMR is working.

Still does it with today's update.

I decided to give 4.3.0 one more test today. I ran sudo raspbi-config in an SSH shell and let it generate all locales, which took 5 hours on my Pi Zero W. Then I set my time zone to Asia/Manila. Back in Pi-Star I selected the same time zone and saved the configuration changes successfully. Next, I enabled only POCSAG and saved. Next, I changed the APRS server from Europe to Rotate, and my dashboard language from English_UK to English_US and tried to save those changes but it didn't save, it only stopped all Pi-Star services.

I'm ready to give up on trying to be able to use 4.3.0 for now when 4.2.0 is working beautifully. After all, Deban oldstable (Bullseye) will continue to be supported until mid-2026. Perhaps by then these issues with the Bookworm version vs. my particular hotspot will have been ironed out, or I may have a different hotspot by then which works perfectly with Pi-Star Bookworm. Either way, I was glad to help with the war effort (haha!)

Thanks again, Andy.

I am sure things will improve over time, 4.3.0 is a beta after all.

Nextion support in 4.3.0 will also improve, I am working on bringing Nextion support in so that it's ready out of the box, but that too is improving.

Here's an odd one.... I run my NXDN hotspot on an RPi3B with one of the original ZumSpot boards. When I went to the first beta (4.2.0), I used the board firmware update feature to bump the Zum up to V1.6.1, which worked perfectly. And the hotspot worked well with that beta. But when 4.3.0 came out, I put it on all my hotspots. However, I noticed that the NXDN one would NOT enable that mode.

In looking at it more, I saw that the FW and board type wasn't even showing on the left side. I tried re-seating the Zum in its socket, but still no-go. So I reverted back to the SD card that had 4.2.0 on it, and it came right back. So this is a bug, it seems, with the 4.3.0 beta not seeing the older Zum board.

Hope this helps someone.

4.3.0 with pi 3 model A+, generic STM32 HAT I've got "Cannot get the control attributes for /dev/ttyAMA0"

In /dev directory I noticed serial0 -> ttyAMA0. However ttyAMA0 is symlinked to /dev/pts/0 serial console.

MODE STATUS went red. Because of this I believe PI-STAR does not see my HAT that is connected to GPIO.

I am not betting my farm but freshly image 4.3.0 it work fine but after I ran update from the menu - everything fell apart.

I will try to see if I can duplicate that when I get home.

4.3.0 with menu update. Ran for 2 days before crashing. Using jumbo clone with GPIO hat. I reflashed and am trying without update from menu. Pi Zero v1 using DMR.

Great job as usual. I am running 4.3.0 in YSF2DMR mode on a
pi-star 5.10.63+ Raspberry Pi Zero W 2 and talking on TGIF 31665 using a Yeasu FT-2DR.

Works great!
