Trouble with Wi Fi Query

Please an easy solution! I am not computer savvy and need help. When I go to Pi-star download page, I inter my Home ATT Wi Fi ID and the Password and then enter Query, I get a "Corrupt File" box. I used both Adobe reader and Win22 unzip programs. I have tried both Chrome and MS Edge. The Pi-star was just purchased from HRO and has installed Pi-star information on the micro-chip. I beg and plead for an easy solution of getting my Wi Fi to micro chip. Maybe i can mail the microchip to some Pi-star angel that could enter my Wi Fi.

Not sure why you're using an unzip program.
1. Enter your wifi info here:
http://www.pistar.uk/wifi_builder.php and download the wpa_supplicant.conf file.
2. remove the SD card from the Pi0 and insert it in your computer (adapter may be necessary)
3. Click the drive letter assigned to the card. If windows tries to format, cancel until you get it to stop.
4. open the drive letter for your SD card and copy your wpa_supplicant.conf you downloaded in step one on the drive.
5. Eject the SD card safely
6. insert the card in the Pi0 slot and power it up. May take up to 5 minutes to appear on your network.

You don't understand. I have tried to download the wp2...……….. from Pi-star downloads and I get a Message "CORRUPT FILE". Please, someone send a easy way of getting my Wi Fi device ID and Password to my Micro Chip. The Pi-star Download is a currupt File. I have have tried multible computers with Chrome and MS Edge Browsers. Acrobate reader and Win22 Unzip show the same message "CORRUPT File". There must be someone in Pi-star community who understands and can help me.

How are you getting a zip file?? If you use Wifi builder as linked in my first message it will download wpa_supplicant.conf
It's a text file. drag and drop it onto your SD card..

Copy and paste this into notepad. Change Network to your Network name, and Password to your password.. save as wpa_supplicant.conf (Might have to use windows file manager to take .txt off the end) drop it on your SD card.

Thank you for your patience. My computer skills are not great. I used Chrome Browser and downloaded to note pad. It's on the Pi-star Micro Chip and I inserted back into my Hot Spot device How do I know I am on Wi FI? What is the DV simplex frequency from my ID-31a plus? I have lots of questions for later.

If it worked, and you got it connected. Now you have to go in and set up everything. Frequency is your choice.
On a computer on the same network open a browser and type
http://pi-star.local if nothing happens try
http://pi-star
It should open the configuration page. I highly recommend the W1MSG videos for help throughout the setup process.

I must not be connected to Pi-star WI Fi. I entered
http://pi-star.local from your message and no configuration page came up. The zum is plugged into USB all lights are on. Wow! This is very challanging

If you're on a Windows computer, try
http://pi-star/ (make sure you include the / at the end).

I am close to throwing in the sponge on the Zum Pi-star. I put in the Micro Card in unit with proper Configeration to Wi Fi for
the Zum hot spot. the unit is all lit up from USB connection. How do I get to the WI Fi page entry for My Beginning Dstar.
This Pi-star is harder than playing golf. Hands up.

Gene, for someone who is smart enough to get an Advanced Extra license, it shouldn't be a problem to figure this out eventually, but you'll need to be a little bit patient, and in order to get help here, you're going to need to be more specific about what you're seeing.
- What kind of computer are you using? Windows 10? Windows 9? macOS High Sierra? etc.
- How is your computer connected to your WiFi network?
- What kind of router are you using for your WiFi network?
- What kind of Raspberry Pi is your ZUMspot (the white modem board) mounted on?
- Have you double checked to make sure the ZUMspot is properly aligned and fully pushed down onto the Raspberry Pi's GPIO connector (the one with 40 pins)?
- Is your power supply rated for 5 volts and 2.5 amps?
- Don't be distracted by the flashing lights on your ZUMspot. That just means it's getting power.
- After you turn on the power to the Raspberry Pi with the ZUMspot modem mounted on it, wait at least one full minute. After that, on a computer connected to your WiFi network (not the Raspberry Pi), open a browser, for example, Chrome, and type in the address for Pi-Star:
- If you are using a Windows computer, type http://pi-star/ and then press Enter on your keyboard.
- If you are using a different computer, type http://pi-star.local/ and then press Enter on your keyboard.
- What exactly do you see in your browser?
