I am using a Raspberry-pi Version 2W. After a day of many frustrations, what is the most bug-free version of Pi-Star? I assume it will be nothing in the 4.x series.

I just want one that will work on my Rpi 2 W. ??

4.1.8 or 4.2.1 runs just fine on a 2w.

I have 4.3.0 running on a 2W, it seems entirely happy after doing the various OS and Pi-Star updates since the 2nd 4.3.0 image from Feb 10th.
