Out of interest what version of Pi-Star are you using - I have worked with Jonathan to fix up some issues in YSFGateway recently, those changes are only available in 4.3.x (once you get to this point, you will no longer need Uppercase host files any more).
I used my Yaesu radio, dialed #00002 for ...

Re: ISSUE: sshd
It seems you are answering in some daffy duck kind of "its mine, mine, mine, all mine" kind of way
Well damn, you nailed it... kidding...
There is a reason, it's just not a good one, Pi-Star has evolved, it's older that you probably realise, but, while the conf directory does exist, there ...

Re: BUG: wrong domain name
.local is exactly in relation to mDNS / Avahi and is correct for that use, and that use only.
Andy,
Again, a cryptic answer that does not really make technical sense and that is quite odd from someone who is quite obviously extremely technical.
I know what Avahi is (an mDNS implementation ...

Re: ISSUE: sshd
Andy, Andrew, et alia:
It seems that whilst the /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d directory exists the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file stands absent the proper include line to effectuate conf files placed therein.
Include /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/*.conf
I do not include any files in /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/ that ...

What version of Pi-Star are you running - I've been working on YSFGateway just recently, but my changes are only applied to 4.3.x

This doesn't make much sense, can you tell me more about what you are seeing?

Re: YSF "service Not Started" and changing rooms
Two issues.
The first: When changing rooms, the new room you are connected to does not display on the reflector window on the hotspot.
The second: After changing rooms, the YSF Net goes red and the YSF network displays "service not started" It takes several minutes for everything to clear up and ...

Re: YSF network connection lost
I've also been working on YSFGateway to improve it some (these are available in Pi-Star 4.3.x)
When searching / listing reflectors, they are listed with the name field in uppercase always - this matches what Wires-X does, and *should* remove the need for upper-case host files to help FT-70D radios ...
