Re: Pi-Star Firewall Ports

UPnP is of the Devil anyway. I see no good reason to ever have it on. I was developed to make Xbox easier to setup. But in the process of making it easy they also put in security holes the size of Manhattan.

Re: DMR JITTER: What does it do

Thanks so very much Andy.
I probably should have stated the question a little differently.

What symptom would I see if this is set too low?
Also what happens if it is set too long? What is degraded by the buffer being overly large?

Thanks so much.

DMR JITTER: What does it do

In the config pages under the path... Configuration / Expert / MMDVMhost ..
There is a setting under DMR Network ( scroll way down ) called JITTER. Can someone explain what this setting does?

Thanks so very much.

Re: Anytone 878 won't connect

Jon,

When you say you this...
And if I put that offset in the programming for the channels using the hotspot - voila, it works!!
Are you modifying the radio programming ( Tweaking the frequency by the amount of the offset )or are you changing the offset in the PI-Star settings?

Its not clear to me ...

I don't follow what you mean by STM_32 selection. Where is this selection set? In PiStar?
I'm confused. :-)

Re: UART serial Flow Control

You are right. Offloading the work done by the STM32 into an FPGA would be the correct thing to do instead of gluing something in between them.

Issue when selecting DUPLEX modem

I am having trouble connecting to Brandmeister when I select the DUPLEX modem. It is almost as if my security password is not set. But if I incorrectly change it to a SIMPLEX modem, it works consistently. ( nothing changed in security settings )
So this brings me to a 2 pronged question.

Re: Display corruption?

Ensure that you have the display logging set to zero (0) as that's what is the cause for the visual corruption

UART serial Flow Control

I have read where you can enable FLOW CONTROL on the pi UART by assigning some GPIO pins to it. Now I realize the MMDVM's don't make use of Flow Control, but I just wonder if by chance it is active on the serial UART when operating in Pi Star. I'm wanting to glue an FPGA in between the PI and the ...
