Re: Allstar

Would it be possible to add support to access the Allstar network through Pi-Star ? Jerry WA4CSS I can't see it happening. Given pistar is heavily exclusive of MMDVM /MMDVMhost and Dstarrepeater which cater only to digital comms. and networks. Look at the DV switch online groups, they're all doing ...

DMR->D-Star issues

I am a bit lost in the D-Star world as I am deep into DMR. Your still using DMR. XLX accepts both DMR and DSTAR connections, the additional hardware ran on the server setup is what permits the crossover between modes, so dmr users will enter using DMR and DSTAR users will enter using DSTAR, that do...

Re: DMR->D-Star issues

64000, 64001, 64002 etc. are called by dialing private calls not as TG's.

Onced dialed, leave the radio on tg6 to talk through.

Re: Zum Radio Board as a Duplex Repeater.

If you change the simplex setting to duplex You'll need two radios, one for TX and another for RX.

Re: iCOM 2820 AND ZUMSPOT

Use the UR memories. Rather than programming separate radio memories. It's a lot easier than having multiple memories that will essentially have the same frequency, offset, rpt1 and rpt2 and just the UR field will be different. You only really need one radio memory programmed with freq. offset, rpt1...

Re: How does a DMR hotspot or repeater station legally ID?

Mmdvm has a feature where an id can be sent as a fm modulated cw identifier. It was implemented when questions like this started to get asked. It's only audible on fm not digital but it's there if you need it. Although in UK regs a digital asset doesn't need to id in the traditional sense of cw or f...

Re: Is "Talker Alias" adequate for legal ID in the USA

I cant really reply on US regs But the radio shows a callsign, the hotspots dashboard shows a call sign. I realise this is done by the DMR.id host file but the end result can be seen on a radio. Just like an fm Id or cw Id needs to be heard on a radio. Is there really a difference whether the id is ...
