Re: Problems with Repeaters without Internet on DMR

One thing i will say at this point to the above is that pistar was never intended to be used as a repeater controller. Can it be used, yes Should it be used ?? Additions like supporting duplex and 3rd party users were all added were hardware and regulations from different parts of the world allowed ...

Re: Bi-Directional Private Call to Group call in DMRGateway

Something similar was used over the past few yrs in that kinda way. Uk used it extensivly and we're one of the last countries to see it go. private call eg. 4400 to get group call tg2350 uk wide. 4401 p/c got you onto tg2351 uk chat. It was known as reflector linking and all traffic was passed over ...

Re: Struggling Like MAD!

Much of Guss and Rudys stuff is based on using Nano pi hardware. Although pistar is employed on some of their stuff, its a custom realease provided to them and not one thats generally available to you the end user. So its up to them if they decide to share it. And it looks like they did and glad the...

Re: Icom 5100A or 9700 Access Point vs hotspot?

You'll still be able to navigate from ur handie through the acess point radio.
But thats a lot of radio ur tying up to do the job of a 50$ hotspot.

Re: RF Amplifiers for Pi-Star? Sources?

Dont do it. Theres no filtering on most hotspot boards so amplifing a dirty signal wont make you popular with the locals. Instead look at getting a mmdvm repeater board and link that to a mobile radio to create a wide area simplex gateway. The mobile rig will offer much higher pwr out also having mu...

Re: FreeDMR

Goto W1MSG youtube channel. Graig is the "official video channel" for pistar. Youll find a vid he did showing you how to configure for BM and TGIF. The same process can be applied for adding more networks if you choose by changing server addresses and the tg rewrite entries. Sent via smoke...

Re: Pi-star Mobile

Mobile dashboard hasnt worked correctly since changes made in 4.0

Its ctreator gave up on it. Appears he didnt want to keep up with regular changes and updates being made in pistar. So he mothballed it.

Re: DSTAR YSF Cross Connect Possible?

No it is not possible with what you have currently. DSTAR uses an earlier codec that isn't capable of working with the newer codecs used in YSF DMR etc. So crossmodes is a no-go You'll need additional hardware/software and infrastructure to make this happen. Some of the XLX reflectors have this addi...

Re: link 2 Pi-Star together via LAN

No only ircddbgateway allows inbound connections. None of the other gateway programs allow for direct linking. You can do private linking to a particular ID but you do still need a DMR server connection to do so. Use private call and not group call. Sent via smoke signals from my SM-G935F M1DNS (Adm...

Re: Want to run 2 Pi-star hotspots

Yep for BM use a seperate SSID ID +01 02 03 etc and leave the security passcode the same across all connections based on you basic 7digit ID. DSTAR: DPlus reflectors like ref001c or ref030c. Two simultaneous connections using the same callsign / ID login gets you a ban. YSF: connect whereever you wa...
