can’t get pi-star download to unzip,what do I need to do? I am new to dmr and d-star

What kind of computer are you using? There are different unzip utilities available depending on the operating system you have.

One thing you might consider doing is using a program called balenaEtcher (https://www.balena.io/etcher/), which is a utility for flashing the image to the microSD card. The advantage of Etcher is that is can work with the zipped image file (it will take care of extracting the img file from within the zipped file).
