YSF2DMR Audio too strong

Post by HB9GKC »

Good Evening,

recently I am successfully using the YSF2DMR to connect DMR with my Yaesu Radios ( I use FT2, FT3, FTM400).

I have realized that the voice audio level seems to be a bit higher (same on all the models I own).

There are stations coming with a very strong audio, up to the point that they result sometimes saturated and almost incomprehensible.
The same stations audio in the native DMR system, is strong but is still 100% intelligible ( I would say they have a very strong and amplified mic but not that much to be a deficiency).

Is there a way to control the amount of audio brought from DMR 2 YSF?
Not even lowering the radio volume has an effect on this bad quality modulations; they keep being saturated.

Thank you all in advance for the replies

YSF2DMR is not transcoding exactly, its more like unwrapping the one mode and re-wrapping the packets with the headers for the other mode, the two are different in the level that they encode the audio, and we can't change that in flight.
