FT70 Europelink

Post by iz5wga »

Hello all,
I own an FT-70D. I was able to connect my pi-star to europelink, but when I try to use DG-ID to switch rooms, there's no effect.
Is it supposed to work?
Thanks

No. Pistar doesn't currently support dgid. all calls are routed using dgid 00

The pull requests are here:

https://github.com/g4klx/MMDVMHost/pull/515

https://github.com/g4klx/MMDVMHost/pull/517

You can see the comments from G4KLX and what has happened so far, essentially it needs people to test it and comment so that eventually the changes will be merged into master.

First of all Pi-Star is a great program, only it has to be finetuned.

I'm using BLueDV on Linux (Raspberry) and have no problem at all on Europelink and NL Central, or AT C4FM Austria, i can change rooms with DG-ID , also use the Wires-X for changing reflectors.

This issue about DG-ID is on for a long time now in Pi-Star, and no one of the devellopers doesn't care's or want to do do anything about it.
The solution is given away to them, they just have to implant it.

So thats why i am using BlueDV in Linux, and since the new NL Central and Europlink are online a lot of ham's in the Netherlands using it. Pi-Star i think it is a missed chance, but thats my opinion.

You may be correct, but unless the changes you are using are in a branch on github then they're not easily visible.

Feel free to do that and then see what happens.
