USB GPS Function?

Post by G0FEA »

Apologies if this is not in the correct section but have looked through the previous post and mn a bit confused still.

What is the function or the purpose of the Mobile GPS Configuration? Is it so you can attach a USB GPS puck to the pi and allow it to post APRS location via the internet? If this is the case, how is it achieved.

I have attached a USB GPS to my pi. I can see data being passed to the pi from the USB port (sudo cat /dev/ttyACM0) but not sure how or what else needs to be done to deliver tracking. I can see the location of the pi on APRS.FI if I enable the APRS host in the main config section.

Sorry if this sounds like gibberish but I am a little confused.

Thanks in advance for the help and support.
