I would not suggest trying to build the binary from scratch like that.
Instead, download the latest build (raw download) from here:
<https://github.com/MW0MWZ/MMDVM_Stack/b ... /MMDVMHost>
Copy it to the /home/pi-star directory, then backup (copy) the /usr/local/bin/MMDVMHost entry to a new name before copying the previously downloaded update to /usr/local/bin.
(You'll probably have to stop the mmdvm host program first before you can complete the copy.)
Then recycle the system/tasks to load and test the new version.

Hi Mark... WOW - I did not know about Andy's repo on github!KN2TOD wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 11:42 pm I would not suggest trying to build the binary from scratch like that.

OK, MMDVMHost binary updated and DTMF IS WORKING Y'ALL!!!
Now dare I try a Pi-Star v4.3 image and update that....? - tempting!
Appreciate your replies Mark!!

Re: Loss of DTMF Decoding PLUS loss of ability to edit ircddbgateway config file from Expert Menu
BTW, I saw some posts from others mentioning the need to update the repo path...
Let's see if the nightly update breaks this manual update!
Where do I update the repo path and what is the url that I need to spec?
Thanks!

You should be able to follow the same steps for this version as you did for the other. Now dare I try a Pi-Star v4.3 image and update that....? - tempting!
Re: Loss of DTMF Decoding PLUS loss of ability to edit ircddbgateway config file from Expert Menu
Hi Mark,
Well, the new version of mmdvmhost (MMDVMHOST: 03/21/25 883868 20250319_PS4 git #d9d6846
) is causing some issues.
There is a message in the mmdvm log file that I see quite frequently...
M: 2025-03-22 19:33:37.662 D-Star, received RF header from VA3UV /91AD to CQCQCQ
M: 2025-03-22 19:33:57.762 D-Star, received RF end of transmission from VA3UV /91AD to CQCQCQ , 20.1 seconds, BER: 0.0%, RSSI: -43/-43/-43 dBm
M: 2025-03-22 19:34:04.074 D-Star, received RF header from VA3UV /91AD to CQCQCQ
M: 2025-03-22 19:34:05.101 D-Star, received RF end of transmission from VA3UV /91AD to CQCQCQ , 1.0 seconds, BER: 0.0%, RSSI: -43/-43/-43 dBm
M: 2025-03-22 19:34:08.357 D-Star, invalid slow data header
This invalid slow data header results in mmdvm ignoring the user's transmission; so the audio is not repeater, nor allowed to pass to the linked reflector.
I have posted this issue on G4KLX's GitHub issues site (ticket #832).
The other thing that I notice is this...
M: 2025-03-22 23:59:03.617 D-Star, received network header from VE3MJM /DON to CQCQCQ via XLX405 A
M: 2025-03-22 23:59:03.835 D-Star, starting fast data mode
M: 2025-03-22 23:59:05.083 D-Star, leaving fast data mode
M: 2025-03-22 23:59:05.340 D-Star, starting fast data mode

M: 2025-03-22 23:59:20.773 D-Star, received network end of transmission from VE3MJM /DON to CQCQCQ , 17.2 seconds, 0% packet loss, BER: 0.0%
There seems to be a lot of flip flopping starting / leaving fast data mode. I hear a lot of beeps on the audio when listening to traffic off the reflector. Not sure if this is all related, but I'll take it one step at a time.
I am just glad that I found KLX's "support channel"!
So Andy / Andrew standby for an updated mmdmhost cpp file, we will need a new build.
Thx,
