Pi-Star 4.3.1 Beta Release

Post by MW0MWZ »

Pi-Star 4.3.1 Beta release is out, 4.3.0 certainly had some bugs, I think I have killed most of the OS related bugs, but with changes come new ways to introduce new and exciting ways to break it :)

Please download it and start some testing, I'm sure there will be more bugs to crush. Any large issues will be dealt with via a new image download, be warned that means you may need to re-image your device if/when that happens, I may not choose to fix it via an update.

This is a continuation of the work we started on the Bookworm OS train, and is pre-updated.

Changes of note:

Code: Select all

04-Apr-2025 **Version 4.3.1 BETA RESPIN #2** - Available for Download.
This is a re-spin of the Beta image, but we're getting close to
        production ready.
Crushed a few bugs that were causing some wild logging, filling
the logs moutned on tmpfs very quickly. This should not
        happen any more.
Fully updated the OS, modified the Kernels in use, to the new
ones, and also fixed and reduced the number of installed
kernels available. Technically this does leave some
performance on the table, but only in places that we
don't need to care about when running Pi-Star.
GPIO issues, including the gpio command have been fixed and
updated, and are working correctly so far as I can see,
please report any bugs you find.

EDIT: Owing to some upstream changes, this will not be upgradable... expect to throw this away in a few weeks and re-image.
Andy
