Thanks for the info, I understand now I think, although I'm not exactly sure about the role US Trust plays in DSTAR. GB7IC is looked after by Icom UK so I will email them to ask.MW0MWZ wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 1:32 pmThat's one for the keeper of GB7IC, if it was in the US Trust list, it would also be in the Pi-Star host files. They may not be using US Trust for callsign routing any more? all questions for the keeper tho.
If you just did a normal update in pi-star, just wait longer, the update will stop/start ircDDBGateway, and again, you need that host GB7IC to show up in the routing before you can connect to it, otherwise your gateway has no idea how to find it.

USTrust is the original callsign routing network, that you can only connect to with a repeater with a full NoV etc. Initially they DID allow hotspots to connect too, but soon stopped that. The rest of us then used openquad instead.
Fast forward a little and ircDDBGateway added support to connect to both at the same time, ahh the utopia...

Re: Maintaining a reflector/gateway link over the Pi-Star update process
Ircddbgateway pulls the list from ustrust. If the rptr you want to connect with isnt reporting to ustrust. It wont get pulled in.
Meaning, it isnt available to connect with as its ip address hasnt be passed on to ircddbgateway.
You can of course manually edit the ***_host.txt files in pistar (make sure to edit only the hosts.txt files in the /root folder) and the address will be available to ircddbgateway, so it should then connect ok.

Thanks, I will look into doing this, and hope that it does then behave.M1DNS wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 8:23 am Ircddbgateway pulls the list from ustrust. If the rptr you want to connect with isnt reporting to ustrust. It wont get pulled in.
