Both my Raspberry Pi/MMDVM boards almost always fail to connect to a D-Star reflector when initially powered up.
It has been this way on previous versions as well as the current one (4.2.3).
Running an update results in a connection straightaway.
Is there a setting I am missing?

I think both these links may help you, I haven't had time to play about myself but the M1DNS advice is likely to be good.

Re: Fails to connect on powering up
Thanks for the links Brian. I am not sure the issue I have is quite the same as those. In a nutshell this is what happens:
On power up I get the usual announcement of "connecting to..." and if I look on the Reflector web dashboard it shows me as a remote user (http://ref079.dstargateway.org/). A brief transmission doesn't show on that web site, as it would if I were really connected.
The local Raspberry Pi admin dashboard also shows that I am not connected to the default (power up) reflector. Equally a repeater information (I) request from a radio returns "connecting to..." and not "connected to..."
Generally, if I run the update it sorts it out. Also if I manually link from my hand held it will usually connect. However, it would be nice if the auto connect on powering up fully connected.
