That sounds like the same board I've been using, also on an RPi3B.

Tee-Hee,,then why is it called a Dualband radio board?? All my hard earned currency to by the 'best' dualband, twin radio board, and it doesn't work like one.

It is a mono Rx/Tx board capable of use on either of the two bands: 2m or 70cm, but not both at the same time to my knowledge (I don't even know if it can work cross-band split -- Rx on one band while Tx is on the other -- considering how few radios would support that). There is only a single radio module on the board.

Configured for MMDVMHost and SIMPLEX Node, and set as a "private" node. Has worked from day one...

Well, I must tell you that all is fine now, I found the culprit, there was a rogue password in the DMR Setup section of the pi-star configuration. I don't know how that got there, but once removed, all started up working!!!!!

I have set it to "public", seems fine.

Funny re. the dual radio story, I am reasonably sure the advert for the board states "twin radios"

Anyway, thank you for your support.

My only gripe is the single status led on the board, with the pi zero hat board, you know whether DSTAR or DSTAR are working, also when it is transmitting.

The dual board, obviously older design, you get a fast, semi fast and slow flashing indication of a very "bright" led. Whether you are receiving on dmr or dstar or whatever,,, who knows-hi
