Keeps disconnecting

Post by VE1JCS »

Have a Pi-star, simplex high power node set to auto connect at startup to XRF005B
It seems to unlink from the reflector after a long while Eg. sometimes over night, If i check status it says "Linking to XRF005B"
The only way to get it to re link to XRF005B is to send an unlink command then Link again to XRF005B
I have enabled the reconect to "1" in ircddbgateway in expert mode but still doing the same thing.

Dose anyone have any suggestions?

Thank You

Ok so tried all that and still when reflector disconnects, it never reconnects.
If i key up with an "I' for information status i get a response of "Linking to XRF005 B" but it never links to it
If you try to re link to XRF005 B you get a response of "Linking to XRF005 B" and it never connects to it.
I will also add that when on the pi-star dashboard I also click on link, same issue happens. I must select UNLINK on dashboard, followed by LINK in order to get it to link back up

The only way, I repeat the ONLY Way it will link back up is IF i send an "Unlink" Command followed by a Link command to XRF005 B
It then connects immediately to XRF005 B
:o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

Must be something else going on?

Just curious: have you tried toggling the Use DPlus for XRF option in D-Star Configuration? Not sure if that will help, but might be worth a try.

Yes I do have the use Dplus for XRF toggled in the on position, and it still dose same thing. I will try toggling it off and then back on again 2 see if that helps

Or just try with it turned off. If the reflector you're trying to connect to is running newer software, you don't need that setting enabled. Remember that you need to run a Pi-Star Update after you change that setting.

I updated the software with a backup I created months ago and it seems to have fixed the problem, I then proceeded to make adj. to the DMR ID # and everything went CRAZY with the image.
I did a system reset and manually entered all my settings into the software and all seems to be working just fine again?
Made a fresh backup, hopefully this resolved the problem and all will work stable again.

So Far so good, all has been working Solid since I did the fix last mentioned. Something just must have gone wrong with the image and the fresh install seems to have resolved the issues.

73, and thank you for all the comments and suggestions :) :) :)

Good to know that everything is working. Yes, a fresh image can solve a lot of puzzling issues. A couple other simple things that are often worth checking during troubleshooting: try a new microSD card and/or try a new power supply. I had an issue just yesterday with a power supply that has worked (and still works) just fine for many hotspots just wouldn't cut it for a hotspot with a Nextion display and a fan that I was trying to install Pi-Star 4.1 on. Because the power supply worked fine the rest of the time, it took a while before I thought to try a different one, which solved the issue.
