Pi-Star 3.4.17
Using DMRGateway as DMR Master
Disabled UPPERCASE hostnames and updated (I don't know the reason for this but it's what a guide said to do)
The problem is that I cannot change from the YSF Reflector set in the YSF Startup Host.
Using my DMR radio I use TG 7064259 (this should connect me to #64259 GB Durham, except I just go out on CQ UK (the reflector set as startup host).
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
DMRGateway - Unable to change YSF Reflector
Re: DMRGateway - Unable to change YSF Reflector
I noticed V4 Pi-Star was out of beta. Knowing that some of the Cross-Mode code has been reworked I decided to upgrade.
The process was easier than I expected as you can move your configuration across.
I downloaded 4.1.0 and saved a configuration file. I put this .zip back on the SD card of a clean install 4.1.0 before first boot as instructed.
Most of the configuration worked fine with a few exceptions:
I lost my passwords for Pi-Star access and Hotspot security (makes sense as the config file is probably plain text).
I lost my Modem selection, the configuration page told me 'The Modem list has been updated and needs to be selected again', trouble was I couldn't remember what it was supposed to be! A little search online gave me a best guess and it seemed to work. Interestingly the Pi-Star was still functioning before I made a selection, so presumably was still using the original setting -it just wouldn't tell me what it was! Possible software bug?
Other than the Modem, all the settings crossed over except DMR2YSF was no longer turned on (I still had DMR Master configured). I turned back on DMR2YSF and restarted. (another possible configuration file bug?)
This time I left the YSF start up host blank (I seem to remember it auto filled a default before??).
Anyway I was able to dial TG 7064259 and it connected to the YSF reflector without any issue. After preliminary testing it all appears to work as it should.
Hopefully my findings here and above will help other users in the future who find this from a search and will provide some useful feedback to the devs. Thank you to all the hard work in making this great software.
