DMR MODE turns RED after boot up

I have an issue with my simplex hotspot running with pistar ver 4.1.5 for DMR.

At boot-up the DMR MODE is GREEN and turns RED though the BM selfcare shows that the hotspot is linked.

I have re-entered the password under the DMR configuration page and checked if it is the same password under DMR GW.

After I APPLY CHANGES the DMR MODE will turn GREEN but switches back to RED after a few seconds or so.

I am at loss on how to proceed. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Usually implies an issue between MMDVMhost and the MMDVM modem,
it cant see your modem.

Couple things to look at
incorrect modem selected,
poor connection at the gpio
Incorrect modem firmware used
Or a fault within the modem itself.

After posting my message I tried the following;

1. Re-entered STM-32DVM / MMDVM_HS - Raspberry Pi Hat (GPIO) and clicked APPLY CHANGES. On starting up, the NETWORK STATUS showed DMR-NET as YELLOW. Ran two manual UPDATES and everything appeared normal.
2.Modes enabled shows DMR in green and in NETWORK STATUS DMR NET is green, but BM showed that the hotspot was not linked. So had to re-enter the passwords in both the Pistar and BM to establish a link. That process took about a minute or 2
3. This morning (on a fresh start after about 12 hours) I was back to square one. DMR mode was RED and BM showed the RED disconnected icon.
I re-entered the password in both PS & BM several times, powered ON and OFF the PS three times and finally got everything connected.

The next option is to keep the jumbospot switched ON 24/7 which I do not like to do during specially during inclement weather.

I had a similar issue with the jumbospot dedicated for YSF. In MODES the YSF box was RED but turned GREEN after switching OFF and ON

I will (time permitting) dismantle both MMDVM hats, clean the GPIO contacts. Hopefully that will resolve the problem

Finally decided to write a new SD card from scratch without restoring the configuration file from the day before.

So far the problem appears to be resolved.

This morning both my SIMPLEX for DMR and Simplex for C4FM were showing that the respective MODES were not active. I do not keep my hotspots switched ON 24/7 as we are having very bad weather and have heavy lightening at times during the night.

However after switching ON and OFF both hotspots the Modes in both were active.

Any idea why this happens?

I do not keep my hotspots switched ON 24/7 as we are having very bad weather and have heavy lightening at times during the night.

Raspberry Pi's are so cheap that if anything should happen, just buy a new one, its not like its a 5000 dollar custom computer.

I really wish that was possible. Right now there are NO stocks of any type of Raspberry Pi's in the market other than used and unreliable ones.

Unfortunately our country (like in Lebanon) is having a foreign currency crisis!! MMDVM hats have to be imported from eBay or AliExpress. Prices they charge are very exorbitant, so we need to protect whatever we have.

I am using PiOw with a Chinese made mmdvm

I guess I had better buy a new mmdvm hat at some point or another?
