Pi-Star Brandmeister connection problems.
Pi-Star Brandmeister connection problems.
I have a pi-star hotspot that was working ok but after a couple months of inactivity there is no connection to the Brandmeister network. Self care does not show it as one of my devices nor does it show anything in the logs as a failed connection attempt. I started a trouble ticket with brandmeister usa and they verified that no connection attempt had been made. The pi-star dashboard shows a green dmr network indicator. I don't have any technical information as to the troubleshooting connection problems other than configuration and mine is correct. I did find the ip address for usa 3102 and pinged it to eliminate possible lan problems and the ping had a very quick return with no loss. Does anyone know what would cause this? Communications from PC to pi-star is good. The rf link has no errors. It seems that the raspberry-pi is not even trying to connect yet reports it is connected. Thanks for any help!
Re: Pi-Star Brandmeister connection problems.
I have glo fiber internet so as a last test I configured droidstar on my phone. It wouldn't connect either. After turning wifi off on my phone droidstar connected. Then the phones wifi hotspot was turned on and pistar was configured to use the hotspot. The DMR hotspot connected and worked fine. Moving everything back to glo fiber caused both to stop working. I have 3 wifi routers and all 3 were tried. Anyone have an idea as to what would cause this?
Re: Pi-Star Brandmeister connection problems.
Any idea if your fibre connection has CGNAT involved? It might be down to some odd port re-routing going on where it's difficult to see it in action.

Re: Pi-Star Brandmeister connection problems.
I have not had time to start with glo fiber. I did lookup the IP address for the 3102 server and connected to it with no problem with a browser so it does seem port related. I haven't learned the Brandmister network enough to troubleshoot correctly but it does look like they use commonly used ports. Thanks for the reply, you did give me an idea for the next step.
Re: Pi-Star Brandmeister connection problems.
Glow fiber never would admit to blocking the 62xxx ports even after I tried to explain to the tech how to check it. I would up configuring my router to use express vpn until after Christmas and at that time will drop then as an isp and telephone company.
