Can't connect to one specific YSF reflector

Post by wa0gmh »

I have a problem that I hope someone has seen and can offer a suggestion. I'm sorry this is so long, but I wanted to provide as much information as possible.

I have two hotspots that I built using generic MMDVM boards and Raspberry Pi Zeros. Both are running Pi-Star 4.1.10, dashboard 20250606, firmware HS_Hat:v5.1.2 with 14.7456 MHz TCXOs. The only difference is that the hotspot that doesn't work is using a Pi Zero W Rev 1.1 and the hotspot that works is using a Pi Zero 2 Rev 1.0. The kernels in the two Pis are different. The Pi Zero W is using the 5.10.103+ kernel and the Pi Zero 2 is using the 5.10.63-v7+ kernel. By not working I mean that it will not link to one specific reflector. It links fine to the Parrot reflector and any other reflectors that I've tried.

Until recently both hotspots linked to the club's YSF reflector. Now the hotspot with the Pi Zero W will not link to the club's reflector. I'm not sure if there was an upgrade recently, but I've tried going back several versions of Pi-Star and the Pi Zero W hotspot still fails to link to the club's YSF reflector. I've changed the mico SSD cards between the two hotspots and both cards work properly in the Pi Zero 2 hotspot, but neither will link to the club's reflector when in the Pi Zero W hotspot. So this seems to narrow it down to the hotspot that uses the Pi Zero W.

Has anyone seen a problem like this and/or can anyone suggest something to try?

Thanks and 73, Fred WA0GMH
